The idea of designing a holiday bunting came to me while I was not sleeping one night. I considered lots of words that I could use, but right now—more than ever—it feels like the world could use more peace. So when that word crossed my mind, it stuck. I decided to keep it simple, and green—of course (although not “my” green for this one).
Because it’s intended to be Christmas decor, these will go out at Thanksgiving-time, so my recipients can enjoy them through the whole Christmas season.
I included a message on a “pocket” with a little diagram showing how to use the jute cord and cards to assemble the bunting, (hopefully a little assembly won’t scare anyone off), and a business card with a special little die cut, printed specifically on kraft paper for consistency with the texture and color of the envelope and cord.
When I got the cards back from the printer and strung them together, the result was even better than I had pictured in my mind. I think I’ll keep this peace in my home long past Christmas.
