Brochure design

Brochures and awards event materials for The National Conference for Community and Justice [ for modern8 ].

The NCCJ is dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism in America through a variety of programs. The photography focuses on happy children who see only friends in others—not differences. The typography was designed to have its own voice—to emphasize certain key words, but also to read as it would be spoken. It’s bold and easily readable, but doesn’t overpower the beautiful images. By choosing to print using only 2 colors, costs were kept down, allowing for an inserted vellum fold-out in the awards dinner program. It also created a dramatic and unique product. The color schemes were different for each brochure, while maintaining a feeling of warmth, softness and harmony.
